I`m assuming the free version has the same tool. http://www.photofiltre-studio.com/news-en.htm has a free version (for personal use, not for profit projects) and all you have to do is select Image menu, choose transparent color and use the color picker to select which color will become transparent - gone!. This works best for simple background, but you can also use the select tool as you would in Photoshop to cut out sections of the background. Paint dot Net also has a good selection tool for selecting portions of the background at a time in order to delete them. Paint dot Net is found at http://www.getpaint.net/index.html and can be used FREE for both personal and commercial uses - see the license. I use all of these programs on a regular basis. Download SnapCrab screen capture program then erase the image background as usual in Clipping Magic which shows your progress in the right hand picture. Once completed use SnapCrab to grab the completed image without original background.
